With over 50 years working as a Solicitor dealing with Maritime and Corporate matters, Valentine has enjoyed a successful career in the Maritime industry. He has worked for major shipping firms and has experience in all aspects of Maritime Law. In particular he has dealt with Shipbuilding Contracts in most jurisdictions including Norway, Sweden, Croatia, Japan, Korea, Vietnam and China. In the course of his business, he has visited all of these countries and is experienced in the delivery of Newbuildings. Experienced in all aspects of Maritime Law including: Ship Sale/Purchase (having dealt with thousands of transactions and related to this); Ship Registrations; Arbitrations; Ship Arrests; Foreclosures; and all related matters to financing, acting for major European banks and also major Shipowners worldwide (particularly in Greece, Croatia, Italy, Turkey and Norway), he also has extensive experience in offshore jurisdictions.

He deals with all types of Vessels from small yachts to large Tankers, Bulk Carriers, Offshore Vessels, Tugs and Fishing Vessels. He has also specialised in Offshore jurisdictions, formation of Offshore companies, Tax advices in this respect and also, where necessary, Arbitrations and Litigation in respect of Ship Arrests and Ship Disputes.

His client list is substantial, (acting for many of these clients for 40-50 years), and deals with all matters relating to their Shipping Fleets and any related legal matters. Elsewhere, Valentine relaxes through socialising, walking, watching cricket, and travel.
